Download the full LMS. Free, with unlimited users.

Community Edition is the complete MyPass LMS. It is not a trial and it does not expire. Run it on your own server, or have Kprise host the same software for you. The licence costs nothing either way. What changes is who pays for the server, email, AI, storage and upgrades around it.

Self-hosted or hosted

The LMS is free both ways. Everything around it is not.

A running LMS needs a server, a database, a way to send email, AI model access, file storage, backups, and someone to apply upgrades. Self-hosted, each of those is yours to buy and look after. Hosted by Kprise, they come in one monthly fee.

Which one fits

Both are the right answer for somebody.

Self-host Community Edition when

You have the infrastructure and a person who owns it.

  • You already run servers and a MySQL database.
  • Someone on your team is responsible for backups and upgrades.
  • Learner data has to stay on infrastructure you control.
  • You want to evaluate the product at your own pace, with no trial clock.

Let Kprise host it when

You want the LMS, not a server to look after.

  • Nobody on your team is paid to run servers.
  • You would rather not set up and maintain a mail-sending domain.
  • You want AI features working without managing API keys and usage bills.
  • You want upgrades applied for you and a support contact when something breaks.

Not sure yet? Start self-hosted. If running it becomes a chore, Kprise can move you to a hosted plan later.

Before you download

Questions people ask first.

Is Community Edition a trial?

No. It does not expire, it has no user cap, and it does not ask for a credit card. You can self-host it for as long as you like.

Are features held back for the paid plans?

No. Community Edition is the full LMS. Paying for hosting changes who runs the system, not which LMS features you get.

If the software is free, what am I paying Kprise for?

Operations. On a hosted plan Kprise runs the server and database, sends the email, provides the AI services and file storage, takes the backups, applies upgrades and security patches, and answers support requests.

Do hosted plans charge per user?

No. Every plan has unlimited registered users. Hosted plans are sized by how many people are logged in at the same time: up to 50 on Shared Hosting and up to 1,000 on Private Hosting.

Can I start self-hosted and move to Kprise hosting later?

Yes. If you decide you no longer want to manage the infrastructure, Kprise can migrate you to a managed hosting plan.

Is there a discount for nonprofits and associations?

Registered nonprofits and member associations get 20% off every hosted plan and a 2-month free trial in place of the standard 15 days. Community Edition is free for everyone.

Download it today. Decide who runs it later.

Community Edition gives you the whole LMS at no charge. When you would rather hand the server, email, AI and upgrades to someone else, the hosted plans are one click away.
