The full LMS you can run yourself for free.
Self-host it for free. Or let us host it for you.
MyPass is built around a simple promise: the LMS platform is free when you run it yourself. There are no user caps, no course limits, and no feature tiers to unlock later.
Run MyPass on your own server, VM, private cloud, or internal infrastructure.
For teams that want MyPass to run the system for them.
The platform is the same either way. Hosting changes who runs it — not what features you get.
Why organizations
choose MyPass LMS.
Predictable costs
Free software, optional hosting. No per-seat fees and no surprise line items.
Fewer systems
Courses, AI, SCORM, surveys, reporting and integrations in one platform — not eight.
Faster deployment
Launch in days, not weeks. Everything you need is configured and ready on day one.
AI without extra contracts
Course creation, surveys, chat and content generation are built in — no separate AI vendor.
Less admin overhead
No plugin juggling or version-lock debugging. One platform to keep running, not a stack.
Complete ownership
Your data, your servers, your terms. Self-host free, or move to managed hosting in one click.
Open source hands you a toolkit. Open core hands you a platform.
Moodle is genuinely free to license. So is MyPass. The difference is what your team carries after the download.
The same openness. Ready to run.
Zero license cost and full data ownership — delivered as a finished, supported product.
You get the code. You bring everything else.
Free to license, genuinely open — and from day one, running it becomes your project.
How MyPass compares to traditional LMS options.
Most LMS platforms make you choose between free but complex, or hosted but expensive. MyPass gives you another path: a full LMS that is free to self-host, with paid hosting only when you want us to run it.

Moodle isn't free. It's just billed differently.
No license fee, total control — all true. Industry research puts a typical 500-user self-hosted Moodle deployment at $50K–$200K+ in year one. The biggest line item is the person keeping it alive.
Ranges compiled from published third-party TCO research and salary data. Your numbers will vary — run them before you decide. Self-hosting MyPass has hosting costs too; what it removes is the stack, the plugin matrix, and the dedicated admin.
A complete LMS, not a starter edition.
The free self-hosted edition includes the full MyPass platform. You do not need to upgrade to unlock core LMS features.

Want the LMS without managing servers? We'll host it.
Managed hosting is the paid MyPass option. You get the same LMS platform, but MyPass handles the technical operations for you.
What managed hosting covers
Every plan includes unlimited registered users — hosted plans are sized by simultaneous logins and infrastructure, never by headcount.

Is MyPass really free?+
Yes. MyPass is free when you self-host it. You can run the full LMS on your own infrastructure with unlimited users and courses at no cost to MyPass.
What do we pay for?+
You pay MyPass only if you want managed hosting. That means MyPass runs the infrastructure, backups, updates, monitoring, and support for you.
Are features locked behind paid plans?+
No. The self-hosted edition includes the full LMS platform. Managed hosting changes who runs the system, not which LMS features you receive.
Is this a trial?+
No. The self-hosted edition is not a trial. It does not expire and does not require a credit card.
Are there per-user fees?+
No. MyPass does not charge per user for the self-hosted LMS.
Do we need to use MyPass hosting?+
No. You can self-host MyPass forever. Managed hosting is only for teams that want MyPass to handle the technical operations.
What does self-hosting require?+
Self-hosting means your team manages the server, database (standard MySQL 8.0), backups, updates, uptime, and security practices. MyPass runs on Docker, a VM, or a cloud server and is designed to be straightforward to deploy, but self-hosting still requires basic technical ownership.
Can we move from self-hosted to hosted later?+
Yes. You can start self-hosted and move to managed hosting later if you decide you no longer want to manage the infrastructure.
Can we leave managed hosting later?+
Yes. Your data should remain portable. Managed hosting is a service, not a lock-in strategy.
Is the course library required?+
No. Ready-made courses are optional content add-ons. You can build and run unlimited courses yourself in MyPass without buying course content.
